Curating the Macabre. Archiving the Strange.

Welcome to the digital headquarters of Erin Chapman—Investigative Producer, Journalist, and Dark Historian. Through deep-dive investigative journalism, media production, and field research, I unearth the narratives that sit at the intersection of history, true crime, subculture, and the anomalous.
Morbid Planet
Join Erin, the creator and host of Morbid Planet as she acquires, educates, and grows Morbid Planet’s rare collection celebrating the horror genre, deathly destinations and histories, unique people, dark curiosities, and more! This is an educational archive and community designed for the deeply curious—exploring dark tourism, post-mortem culture, and the macabre realities of our world. Become part of the Morbid Planet community and help her grow this historical collection.
Investigative Journalism and Fieldwork
Uncovering Hidden Realities With a journalistic lens rooted in rigorous research, my writing and deep-dives span across a spectrum of dark history, subcultural sociology, and business analysis. From spearheading the groundbreaking Sanguinarian Survey to publishing over 100 exhaustive articles on Vamped and Morbid Planet, my work brings obscure truths into the light.
Academic Foundations
Preserving Lore and Scholarship From 2019 to 2021, I served as the Operations Coordinator for the Vampire Studies Association, a multidisciplinary organization dedicated to fostering and publishing high-level vampire scholarship. This blend of academic discipline and narrative storytelling shapes every script, article, and production I touch. The association mission is, “To establish vampire studies as a multidisciplinary field by promoting, disseminating and publishing contributions to vampire scholarship.”
Behind the Archives
When I am not deep in a historical file, scriptwriting for YouTube, or investigating anomalous subcultures, you can find me heavy lifting at the gym or managing the daily chaos of my two turtles, Watson and Zebbie.
